The inimitable RICK WAKEMAN has just been confirmed for the major "Helping The Heart of Music" concert at the Royal Albert Hall on October 25th.
Rick is the latest big name in a long list of stars to join specially reformed headline act THE FACES for the fund raising show in London. In aid of the PRS for Music Members Benevolent Fund, the concert marks the 75th anniversary of the charity. Rick Wakeman is known to millions not just for his work with supergroups Yes and Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe but also as a hugely successful solo artist. He has composed for several films as well as his own major shows (King Arthur on ice and “Six Wives” at Hampton Court Palace) as well as being a guest musician for many other major stars including Alice Cooper, Elton John, Lou Reed and David Bowie .The electronic keyboard pioneer is also a well known broadcaster and commentator and has appeared on many TV shows including Top Gear, Countdown, Have I got News For You and, as a regular contributor, BBC 2’s Grumpy Old Men. |
In addition, award-winning guitarist Martin Taylor, one of the world’s leading jazz artists, will be now be joined by his gypsy jazz group Spirit of Django which includes fast rising jazz singer Alison Burns. Robin Gibb, however, will no longer be appearing.
